Program
The Wills College Accounting and Payroll program has students acquire and apply the knowledge of financial business concepts in an office environment. Graduates will have gained the necessary skills to be able to organize and manage financial transactions for a variety of businesses and organizations.
Upon completing the program the student will be able to:
Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to financial accounts both manually and by computer
Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts
Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, and maintain general ledgers
Code, total, batch, enter, verify, and reconcile transactions
Compile budge data and documents
Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, utility, tax and other bills
Prepare period financial statements and cost reports
Strong focus is given to the Microsoft Office and Accounting applications that are used in today’s offices.
